The Dytran model 3225M40 is an ultra miniature teardrop charge mode accelerometer with a sensitivity of 1.8 pC/g designed to mount in spaces typically inaccessible to other types of accelerometers. The sensor features a height of 0.16-inches (4.1-millimeters) and an overall weight of just 0.6 grams.

Units are designed to reliably operate in high temperatures up to +350°F (+177°C) and feature a ceramic shear sensing element packaged in a lightweight laser welded titanium housing. Model 3225M40 includes a 3-foot cable assembly terminating to a 10-32 jack. The permanently attached cable assembly was designed with strain reliefs devised from low outgassing materials, making it uniquely capable of operation in high vacuum vibration levels typically found in space related applications.
